I'm glad you did the experiment. So, it seemed to you that most people looked at you like you were crazy? Now, is that really the case, or do you think that you have a lot of stuff come up in your imagination when you do it? The point is to rid yourself of the unwarranted fear. Do it again and again until you are actually comfortable. It will happen and I can assure you that most people will be lifted by a simple hello that has a smile go with it. Rather than people thinking you are crazy, they will think you are friendly. This exercise will take you a good step up the ladder of communication skills if you just do it until you are comfortable. And be sure to note what comes up in your imagination and analyze your imaginings. Try imagining you are a wonderful, friendly, great person before you say hello to someone. When we run negative imaginings through our minds, people pick up on them by our vocal tones, body language, facial expression, and look in our eyes. You will soon discover what you imagine shortly before you speak sets the stage. Good luck on your journey. Keep in touch and keep communicating.
