Love will always be a double edged sword. Our joys are our sorrows and our sorrows are our joys. They cannot be separated. The challenge is to not focus on the sorrow as much as the joy. Lighten up. If you get a puppy, it will someday die. All things come to an end. And within this end, we expeerience human growth. You appear to need some growth regarding your inability to "let people in." All or our wrong choices can be traced back to fear. Fear is not a good guide. Without fear, we retain a clear mind to make the best choices. As love goes, it is our heartbreak that makes us grow to the point where we really know what love is. Young love is the practice grounds where we learn about love. You are a powerful, spiritual divine being. Claim it. Do the work involved in understanding love to the point where you let people in and have no fear. This is courage.
