Imagination Control Therapy:
The New Software Program For The Mind

Matthew 18:21-22: Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.

The Basic Imagination Control Technique

To unplug from the negative mind you must install a new software program in your mind so you can bounce your consciousness from negative to positive. First of all, you must have total faith in God (or a higher power) to the point that you feel good about creating positive thought in spite of all outside influences that dictate the notion of negative thought. To have this faith you must rationalize that all negative thought will harm you or others and all divine positive thought will parallel the will of God. The atheist is advised to develop the logic that negative imagery initiates the fight or flight response in the body, filtering out positive aspects of the environment or self, resulting in an unclear mind dictated by fear.

I have had a few people argue that they would feel foolish having blind faith to the point that they would create positive thoughts when things are in chaos or in moments of serious misfortune. I can only retaliate by saying that using negative thought in any situation will always seriously inhibit our potential to handle any situation and that negative thought usually causes us to justify doing something foolish or worse. You absolutely must come to terms with rebuking the use of all negative emotion and imagination. If there is a single doubt in your mind concerning this fact, you will continue to justify using your negative spectrum of thought. If you do use negative thought, when you are back in a positive state of mind, look back and analyze the emotions and imaginations you experienced. You will find that no good will ever come of the use of negative thought (other than, perhaps, insights born of walking in darkness and then coming to the light). This should teach you that the negative spectrum of thought is futile.

It is imperative to understand that there is a difference between dwelling in negative imaginations as compared to imagining negative consequences of decisions or pondering negative possible results that may occur. Dwelling in negative imaginations creates a mind movie that, in turn, creates the negative chemicals of which negative emotions are dependant. Acknowledging the negative long enough to create something positive out of it is quite different than dwelling in the negative until the undesirable chemicals are created in the body causing negative emotion.

Once you come to terms with justifying the use of your negative spectrum of thought, you can now begin to run a self analysis concerning any negative thoughts you continue to use because you cannot stop yourself. It is progress to become negative, know that it is not good to be that way, and to try to stop or prevent further episodes, rather than to do it and justify it.

This unplugging from the negative mind through total faith should manifest a major leap of spiritual ascension. A true seeker will immediately know that this is the true path of enlightenment, self-realization, total God realization, divinity, say it as you will. To rebuke all negative imagination and emotion feels right and has an immediate effect on the mind and body. As you practice this thought process, your faith will progress from an intellectual faith to a spiritual faith. You will become a vehicle for the faith expression of the indwelling Christ.

Keep in mind that I say to rebuke negative thoughts. This is not saying that they will never again come to mind, it is saying that we must not permit our consciousness to dwell in these thoughts. When negative images enter into the mind, acknowledge them and then, very quickly, choose a positive image to replace them. You must invent ways that you can achieve this on your own. The mastery of this is to change your viewpoint so that you can find something positive. Humor is a wonderful way to change things around. It is better to laugh than to cry. It is better in general not to take life so seriously. In more serious situations, look for wisdom and lessons and a bigger picture.

You must come to terms with the fact that every time you rebuke negative thought, you will learn a spiritual lesson resulting in growth as a person. If you have any doubt of this fact you will miss the lesson.

The Software Program

1. Something happens to dictate negative imagination.

2. You have the negative imagination in your thought or thoughts.

3. You then acknowledge the imagination.

4. At this point, you must exercise faith. Through faith you will come to terms with any risk you may attempt to reason, such as feeling foolish, by understanding the use of positive thought will not be inferior to any negative thinking. (Soon you will see enough results to reinforce this logic).

5. Next, before the imagination becomes an emotion, you search out and find a realistic viewpoint where you can choose a positive imagination through your own creativity. This will automatically change your emotional urge. Keep in mind that emotions are manufactured on the spot by our imaginations.

6. Lock in these positive thoughts with faith and the realization that positive thoughts are productive while any negative thoughts are counter-productive. Notice how much better you feel as a result. Become aware of the options these imaginations bring forth since you are now clear minded.

This is the fundamental of Imagination Control Therapy. As you practice this technique it will become a second nature, as easy as flipping a coin. Make this thought process a habit. As the saying goes, "Sow a thought reap an attitude, sow an attitude reap a habit, sow a habit reap a character, sow a character reap a destiny." Our thinking habits create our personal heaven or hell. Through the imaginations of our thoughts we create our attitudes, our habits, our character, our destiny.

By practicing this simple thought process you will experience tremendous growth and ascend spiritually as you have never before. It is this simple. Within this new software program for the mind you will find all truth, answers, the wisdom of the masters, and the kingdom of heaven. These things were always within you blinded by your own negative imaginations which are rooted in fear. Without the delusions caused by the negative spectrum of thought, we can develop the ability to give reality the further considerations that we overlook because our negative imaginations are consuming our ability to "see" the whole of reality.

Delusive Conclusions and the Negative Imagination

There is a direct parallel between delusive conclusions and the negative imagination. I cannot elaborate on this enough. We reach many conclusions within seconds. We have all heard of the saying, "Jumping to conclusions," yet we feel that we are not guilty of this the majority of the time when just the opposite is generally the case. Time after time this can be observed in human behavior patterns.

These patterns are expressed in the behavior of all people to a greater or lesser degree no matter how intelligent or accomplished. Once the negative imagination is permitted to emerge, situations are misread, the actions of others are misinterpreted, complexes may dominate the mind, motives and intentions of others are misinterpreted. A productive critique may be taken as a slur against our essence or the importance of events may become exaggerated. Our life experience becomes greatly influenced by what we imagine with the mind’s negative spectrum of thought. Rebuking negative imaginations opens the door to the possibility of a higher level of thinking through positive imagination and realistic thought therapy.

Keep in mind that running possible negative results through the mind or acknowledging negative aspects of the environment are not dwelling in the negative imagination. It is the dwelling in these imaginations that begin to activate the fight or flight response and its thought filtration system that leaves the positive aspects of reality unacknowledged.

We should not become eccentric by always thinking something positive, even if it is nonsense. To find the silver lining in the cloud takes creativity, effort, and a desire for higher levels of thought. These higher levels of thought lead to spiritual ascension through a life lesson learned and practicing faith. The key is to find a realistic positive imagination to replace any negative imagination that seems to be appropriate with a thought from the Christ consciousness or higher self. You cannot go wrong if you do.

The Spiritual Blueprint

The body is literally blueprinted for positive thought. The higher the level of thought we attain, the more efficient the body is at creating a format of physical and emotional health. Constant positive and spiritual imaginations cause the body to go through a re-chemicalization process. The positive thinker affects the body while the re-chemicalization brought on by these imaginations affect the thinker. Thought patterns affect the neural circuitry in the brain by furrowing these thought patterns. Good imaginations create good neurological furrows. We become what we think. We feel the way we think. Life becomes what we think it is or what we think it into.

As our neuron brain cells die each day and are never replaced, the living neuron cells continuously grow dendrites to further connect the cells in an intricate web. This dendrite growth is in response to our thought processes. Inevitably, a shift in paradigm occurs. New insights are formed. Negative thoughts create a paradigm of insights of darkness while positive divine thoughts create a paradigm of insights within the Light.

Is Heaven on Earth Possible?

To some it may seem quite eccentric to believe that the mind can be in heaven while the body is on Earth, but the body will create the chemical response within itself to physically manifest the imagination just the same way it creates a response to all imaginations that create all of our emotions and feelings. The human body is considered by many yogis to be a perfect vehicle for the expression of consciousness. I agree fully. The blueprint for extended consciousness through the body's re-chemicalization and dendrite growth, the very fact that we can feel a divine experience, the fact that we can reach higher levels of thought, throws a monkey wrench in any theory of evolution which denies God. We have been created with this blueprint and it is dormant in most people, waiting to be developed, to be resurrected.

Act and feel the way you would if you were in heaven and this becomes your reality. If you were in heaven, you couldn't really feel as though you were really part of heaven if you continually used negative thoughts. There is a certain responsibility involved in our thought processes if we are to be children of the light. We can be more than human, we can be and feel as though we are a child of God. We are blueprinted for it.

Make your reality heaven and you will feel it. The brain, central nervous system and endocrine system will assure this occurs.

Meditation Affirmations

I rebuke the use of all negative thoughts.

I realize that my positive spectrum of thought is parallel to the will of God.

My faith is deepening, progressing, toward becoming an expression of the Christ consciousness.

I can always find the silver lining in every cloud.

My consistent positive thoughts are awakening the Christ consciousness within me.

Through divine positive thought I am becoming a child of God walking in the light.

Imagination Control Therapies Now In Use

Though the following groups using therapies including the imagination do not distinguish the imagination as the primary manifestation within the order of mental activity, they have successfully endeavored in this area with positive results.

Psychology

Though psychology desperately needs to further research the imagination, it has done some good work in the field of visualization. This entails creating images of yourself as healed from any present mental troubles. Visualization therapy is also beneficial for self improvement.

Health

The medical profession also has its version of visualization. When we visualize ourself as healed, or visualize the actual healing process, we really do accelerate healing. Positive affirmations are excellent ways to stop or regress ailments of which are caused by our own negative imagery.

Louise Hay has done some very impressive work by tying together ailments caused by negative thought and the affirmations necessary to alleviate these illnesses. Her audio tape, Love Your Body, is a work of art not only affecting our physiology, but our minds and spirits.

Dr. Larry Dossey, author of best seller, Healing Words, has done absolutely fascinating work in healing the body with the mind and researching these affects.

Dr. O. Carl Simonton is also involved with fascinating work where people are using visualization therapy with cancer treatment.

Though the AMA has not sanctioned visualization therapy, independent research by many doctors as well as self/help authors and healers has limelighted the profound affect this practice is having on illness.

Self/Help

The self/help masters all use the words visualize, create an image of, and imagine within their various techniques and exercises for self improvement. Neuro-Linguistic Programming, accredited by Anthony Robins as a tremendous influence toward his success, involves itself heavily with the imagination and image creation exercises.

The Frequency-Following Effect

The frequency-following effect, discovered in the 1940's by Gray Walter, is now utilized by many self/help concerns. The brain waves seem to follow the speed of audio tones and light patterns. Primitive tribes have used this effect unknowingly since time immemorial. Flickering fire light and drum beats influence brain wave patterns and mental states.

The frequency-following effect may be induced without visual aid as is the case with some concerns that use audio only. This allows the effect to be induced economically by a stereo cassette player through a head set. Audible or subliminal tones ramp the user into the alpha, theta, and delta states. Affirmations or subliminal messages may be included on these tapes. As the mental state deepens, we become more and more suggestive to affirmations. These hypnotic or states of reverie are very relaxing and aid in the reprogramming or our subconscious minds.

Sound and light machines take things one step further by adding goggles with LED’s constructed over the eyes. These lights flash in synchronization with the audio tones, enhancing the frequency-following effect. Various affirmation programs, sound affects, subliminal messages, and or music entrance the user while the subconscious mind is reprogramming.

Through researching experienced meditators with EEG’s and MRI’s, researchers have determined what is occurring physiologically in such minds as Yoga and Zen masters. As a person becomes more and more experienced in meditation, the slower the brain waves appear on an EEG readout. What has taken years of consistent practice four to six hours per day for fifteen tears, can now be attained in less than one forth of this time with the aid of the frequency-following effect. Further, the delta state can be reached with the aid of these tools quickly, in the first session. This state has been only attainable to very experienced meditators. The two hemispheres of the brain are in total synchronization when the mind state is delta. It is believed that our delusional thought processes stem from the two brain hemispheres being out of sync during our beta and alpha states of the day.

Imagination Control Therapy in combination with the frequency-following effect tremendously accelerates the attainability of bliss as a permanent mental state. Those who involve themselves in the use of these tools are the forerunners of the upcoming quantum leap the consciousness of mankind is about to take.

Religion

All religions resort to the use of the imagination in one way or another in prayers or various disciplines. In affect, a prayer is the creation of a positive image that we hold in our minds in the hope of this image materializing into reality. Stronger prayers are prayers of gratitude, assuming the image is manifesting or has already materialized. This has been accurately termed positive prayer.

Affirmation disciplines directly affect the imagination through consistently creating positive images within the mind that eventually sink to the subconscious level. Spiritual denials are used to reprogram the mind with positive images by consistently refusing to grant power to negative images we have created already of which may be influencing us.

Several faiths practice various visualizations designed to create a more unified bond between God and the practitioner.

Christianity

The work done by Dr. Norman Vincent Peale consistently refers to visualization, creating an image on the screen of your mind, and imagining in his various self improvement theories. Although Dr. Peale’s work is self/help by nature, he was a genius at intertwining self/ help with Bible scripture.

The Bible is literally filled with wonderful positive affirmations which can be practiced to spark our divine imaginations. Some of Dr. Peale’s favorite recommendations are to repeat several times a day:

If God be for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31)

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. (Philippians 4:13)

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee. (Isaiah 26:3)

If you canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. (Mark 9:23)

The fundamentals of Christianity teach that we must practice faith. Faith is believing in something with little or no proof. Knowing this, we may conclude that faith is a power of the imagination. Our divine imaginations are probably the closest we as humans come to exercising our being created in the image and likeness of God. We are co-creators with God as we create positive images in our imaginations. Therefore, as we create divine imaginations in the form of prayers, affirmations, and visualizations we are, in reality, in co-creation with God, living the will of God.

Exercises

All of the afore mentioned practices contain an abundance of mental exercises which are wonderful and beneficial. Discover and use as many as you can. You will feel wonderful. Here are a few I practice. I highly recommend discovering the love chemicals in the body created when we dwell on wonderful, loving imagery. Love is the most wonderful, gratifying experience we can have. Being one with God is the experience of love in its highest form. These imagination exercises will develop this wonderful feeling.

Love

1. Relax in a comfortable place. Close your eyes. Begin to imagine yourself in a wonderful place. This can be anywhere you feel close to God. A beautiful mountain scene, a flower garden, a magnificent church, or anywhere you feel good. This may be somewhere you have been before or somewhere you wish you could go. It doesn’t matter.

2. Lock the scene in your imagination. Work on details. As you visualize, try to get sound involved. Hear the sounds of your scene. Feel as much as you can. You can imagine a warm breeze, the sun warming you, feel the earth or what ever you visualize yourself sitting or laying on. Smell what ever you are visualizing. Smell fresh air, clean sea air, flowers if there are any, incense if any you want it. Smell trees or plants. You can be chewing on a weed. Taste it. Taste what ever you can incorporate into the imagination. Now, lock in all the senses in this wonderful imagination.

3. Now, visualize someone or something you love or loved very deeply in the picture. Let the love fill your heart. Embrace the love. Bring someone or something else into the scene you love or loved. Embrace this love. One by one, bring everyone and everything you have ever loved into the picture. Your old bicycle, your first dog or cat, family, friends. These may be those who have passed away or those who are alive. All the love you have ever experienced is now in this picture. Embrace this love. Celebrate this loving adventure. Hug and kiss them. Tell them if you miss them.

4. Focus this love within your heart. Feel your heart swell and swell with love.

5. Feel the Spirit of God in your heart. Hear the Spirit of God telling you that you are His son or daughter, who He loves very deeply. Embrace this wonderful feeling of God’s love. Know that God is love and while you hold this wonderful, powerful feeling of love in your heart, you are one with God.

Love Bubbles, Lights, Rays, and Beams

There are no limits within the imagination so we can create images of anything we choose. Love bubbles are a wonderful way to imagine capturing and holding love within a space. Start your meditation by visualizing a love bubble surrounding you. Expand the bubble of love larger and larger until you engulf you home, neighborhood, city, state, country, the planet, then the universe.

If someone is in need of love, create a love bubble around them. Love bubbles can be intensified by visualizing the light of God, love rays or beams directed at the bubble then penetrating the bubble. We can then imagine that the lights, rays or beams are held and collected inside the bubble where they become more and more dense.

During the day, we can use bubbles, lights, rays or beams to give love to others around us. If we are in intense or non-preferable situations, we will feel much better when we beam someone with a love beam or circle rays of love around their heads. This kind of imagery not only results in our feeling better, it distracts the mind from negative imagery while keeping our minds clear for higher levels of thoughts or insights to surface. Creating positive images about people urges positive behavior. Keeping our mind clear enhances our chances of not overlooking positive options which will improve the situation.

Children

A prudent adult or parent will closely observe the imaginations of children. There is no greater way to develop a child’s mind than to consistently review their imaginings. Usually, when children are troubled, they will blurt out their imaginings. "They all hate me," or "Nobody will let me play with them," are expressions said often by children learning to interact.

Educating a child about their imagination and talking about what images the child is creating will form insights within the child which will be of the utmost benefit in growing up and developing.

Psychology teaches us that we develop our personalities, thought processes, and many of our schemas within the first four or five years of life. These are formed, validated, and used as reference points from the images we have created during this critical time period. So, this is the most important time to form the ideal images in our memory banks.

Teaching children to love, share, and most of all, create positive images of others and the world will pay huge dividends in their mental and spiritual development. Focusing on the imagination will cultivate a self awareness of what images the child is creating and will allow the child to develop in an environment where there is no eluding the fact that the imagination is the primary manifestation in the order of mental activity. Basically, this means that a child can be aware of when their mind is creating baloney and learn not to give baloney validity as well as to stop the process of creating undesirable negative images.

Children born into a world where they are taught to create loving, wonderful imaginations about others and life will build a new world.
